A crackling fire, leaves crunching underfoot, the scent of fresh baked pies and the comfort and delight of friends and family gathering to count our blessings, what could be better? This fall fruit collection has all the jewel tones needed to warm up any space. With this collection, I've added a level of richness from my original classic style. Designed with one of my favorite Masters in mind, Rembrandt. with layers of brushstrokes, combined with rich light and texture. How about we call it, Rembrandt-ish with sparkles?

"She was a storm. Not the kind you run from, the kind you chase." There is this magical place in Avon, Montana and every time we take a little road trip there something beyond magnificent happens. All of a sudden this horse was galloping beside our truck as we were driving. She put on such a show for us that we were speechless...all you could hear was the sound of her hooves and the snapping of my camera. She knew what I needed and was more than happy to comply. I've never seen her again, and we've been back many many times. I lovingly named her my Cinnamon Twist... I will never forget her.

I can't take it..Can you believe these precious furry faces???!!!! Our neighbors' kind-of scruffy calico cat came up with these!!?? I can't believe that even the black ones have bright blue eyes! I wish I had some pictures of what it took to get this shot of my production kitten crew, consisting of my Montana-man husband and my sweet southern neighbor, Wendy, who brought these fluffy models in a laundry basket, while dodging sporadic hail storms!

She also owns a beautiful store downtown called Trove Home and Vintage Goods ...a must see when in Walla Walla! With her wonderful husband Oliver right by her side, these two are so inspiring. On January18th, Heaven became an even sparklier place as she entered through gates made of pearls to her new heavenly residence where the streets are paved with gold.
Even when you know it's coming, you're never prepared for how it feels. We miss her beyond words, but smile every time we think of the everlasting joy she now has, no more suffering, no more pain and being in the arms of her Savior..
...and my dad :)

There's no place my mom would rather be than sitting on our deck with a larger than her, glass of sweet tea watching the birds and taking in the glory of God's creation, as far as the eye can see.

I'm often asked what this love I have for donkeys is all about?
I never could quite put it into words until I randomly picked up the cutest book ever,
"Flash" written by Rachel Anne Ridge
who suddenly found herself as a caregiver of a little (crazy) homeless donkey...
excepted from her book:
"I started noticing every mention of donkeys in scriptural text. Donkeys are woven into the fabric of biblical life. A tool for everyday work, a prop in a narrative story, a symbol for royalty. From Abraham to Jesus, donkeys served. One even spoke out loud!
The donkey who bore Mary, the mother of Jesus, is one who served in complete obscurity. The eighty mile trek from Nazareth to Bethlehem would likely only have been possible with the help of a sturdy donkey. When Joseph saddled him up, the donkey could not have known that the entire course of history was turning a page, and he was part of it. No. He simply walked. He did what was asked. He did what donkeys do best: he served. This donkey trodded along the rocky trails and dusty paths to ferry the precious cargo that would change the world. How just like God to use another donkey, thirty three years later, to bring the Savior-King through Jerusalem on another amazing journey. Handpicked by Jesus, this donkey could not have known the job for which he was chosen would bring grace and forgiveness. Hailed, celebrated, famous for his role, this Palm Sunday donkey is forever remembered whenever the story is told. But he did nothing out of the ordinary, for a donkey. He walked. He did what was asked.
He simply did what donkeys do best: He served.
Jesus' remarkable life was bookended by two donkey rides. Imagine that. I was struck by the poetic drama of it all. Amazed by the vivid realization that God uses ordinary means to do extraordinary feats. It's as if God chooses to unfold His plan using the most humble tools available so He could reach humankind with His gift of grace. I realized that God takes regular people- unassuming individuals who are willing to play supporting roles- and uses them in His grand story that's being played out on
eternity's stage.
Maybe you're not asked to do something noteworthy or remarkable. Maybe you are simply called to walk alongside someone for eighty miles. To be a friend to someone who simply needs a friend. Or to do that one kind thing that no one will ever know
you did. This is what we are made for. To serve. To love. To give.
Being part of His grace story means allowing your life to be bookended by two donkey rides. You enter and you exit, in humble service. It means you are defined by what you give, not what you have. Be a service animal. You are made to serve in love."
...and THERE you have it. My goal in life: Be a donkey...I can do that :)

"service-animals". Love it.. We got this!

My husband and I were walking in our neighborhood and we came upon this horse that was lying in the tall grass...so peaceful, so content..so I had to run home and get my camera..(a mile long gravel road!!!)...and there she was when I returned in the perfect lighting..so peaceful...click...thank you beautiful creature ...:)

This quote is from the beautiful children's book, "LOVE YOU FOREVER" by Robert Munsch. I went to the Artist's Book Release event which was such a wonderful, emotional experience. I came home, anxious to rock and read this book my 2 year son. As I was reading it to him, trying to keep from sobbing, but not doing a very good job, my son, Brady, turned around and looked at me and said, "Mommy, use your big girl voice!" ART THAT LOOKS LIKE A PIECE OF FURNITURE??
This was inspired by seeing all my friends' daughters getting ready to leave their cozy, adorable, "no place like home" nests, and start their next chapter of life in an un-cozy unadorned dorm room!!!! Soooo....I had this idea, what if all their nicknack treasures (that they had to leave behind) could be represented in a cupboard looking piece of art, that at a glance, feels like an actual piece of furniture with a few of their favorite things all sparkled up with layers of glittery goodness!!! Reminding them to sparkle and shine and remember the treasure that they are.
